Country House granted Planning Approval

Our scheme for a new country house in Kent has been granted a unanimous Planning Approval by the local Planning Committee. This is the second house that the Practice's director has steered through this difficult piece of planning legislation now known as Paragraph 55 of the National planning Policy Framework (previously PPG7 and PPS7). The new house will sit on a plateau of land looking out over a wide valley and is set against a back ground of mature trees. It is sculptural in form and clad mostly in bronze coloured zinc carapace

Our scheme for five contemporary houses on the site of a former car repair workshop has been granted a Planning Approval under delegated powers. The scheme locates the houses around a new courtyard which is accessed from the street. Each house has been carefully designed to make the most of the restricted site whilst avoiding overlooking of neighbouring properties. Each house has generous room sizes and private garden space.

Our scheme for seven, four bedroom family houses set on a backland site in Norwood has gained a Planning Approval under delegated powers. The houses replace a row of garages and a car repair workshop. The scheme carefully avoids overlooking neighbouring properties whilst providing high levels of internal and external space for the new residents.

Oast conversion gains Planning Approval

Our scheme for the conversion of a redundant oast house has been granted a Planning Approval. The scheme avoids the usual approach to conversion by keeping the building open and spacious. The roundel remains open to the new conical roof, which instead of a replacement cowl has a large north facing glazed slice to provide natural daylight deep within the plan.

Boatyard scheme gains Planning Approval

Our scheme for three new houses on the banks of the river Medway has been granted a Planning Approval. The tight site and flooding issues provided us with exciting design challenges which formed the basis of this sculptural design. The three houses have generous internal space in addition to large cantilevered terraces and lower level gardens.

Heath Farm School wins RIBA Downland prize in education catagory

Phase 1 of the replanning and redevelopment of Heath farm School has been awarded the RIBA Downland Prize in the eduction Category. The scheme set in the Kent Countryside demolished existing buildings to create a new coherent heart to the school.  The school is an independent co-educational day school for children with emotional and behavioral difficulties and so presented different challenges to main stream schooling

Learning Resourse Centre granted Planning Approval

Our design for a new wing to Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar school was approved by Bexley Planning Committee. The scheme will provide a new Sixth Form Wing, which will incorporate Special Educational Needs facilities and a new library for the main school.
